Programme Roadmap (2025–2030)

The New Ireland Institute is building a multi-year civic-education pathway designed to strengthen democratic literacy, leadership capacity, and cross-community understanding across the island of Ireland and the global Irish diaspora.

Our roadmap is phased, intentional, and grounded in international best practice.

2025 — Foundation Year

  • Establish governance and advisory structures

  • Develop full curriculum and academic frameworks

  • Publish policies, code of conduct, and academic standards

  • Launch NewIrelandInstitute.com

  • Prepare documentation for U.S. charitable status (to be filed early 2026)

2026 — Pilot Certificate:

Shared Island Civic Leadership Certificate

A hybrid certificate delivered to the first cohort of emerging civic leaders.

Focus areas include:

  • Democratic and constitutional literacy

  • Public communication and debate

  • Community leadership

  • Ethical, practical use of AI for public problem-solving

This pilot phase will guide iteration and expansion.

2027 — Dual-Certificate Expansion

Launch of two complementary learning pathways:

  • Shared Island Certificate

  • Diaspora Leadership Certificate

These pathways connect learners in Ireland, Northern Ireland, Britain, Europe, and the United States.

2028 — Diaspora Leadership Hubs

Creation of regional hubs to support:

  • Leadership development

  • Civic education

  • Community capacity-building

  • Diaspora outreach projects

Planned pilot regions include the United States, Britain, and Europe.

2029–2030 — Academic Partnerships & Credential Pathways

The Institute will explore:

  • Collaborative university partnerships

  • Micro-credential alignment

  • External academic review

  • Long-term pathways toward recognised accreditation

Updates will be announced transparently.

Our Long-Term Vision

To cultivate a new generation of civic leaders—ethical, informed, and technologically capable—who can strengthen democratic life and help build a shared, inclusive future on the island of Ireland.
